BACKGROUND

C4C is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution from SAP. It focuses on managing customer sales, service, and marketing activities efficiently. However, its design style was considered outdated. It evolved from the Silverlight version to the HTML5 version and, eventually, to the Responsive UI (RUI) version using Fiori Guidelines.

HOW TEAM WORK

The SAP C4C team spans four countries. I interned with the team in Palo Alto from 2015 to 2016 and later rejoined as a full-time UX Designer in Chengdu, where I worked from 2017 to 2019. In this role, I collaborated closely with other UX designers as well as with local scrum team members. While most C4C designers are based in Palo Alto, the majority of development teams are located in Chengdu and Bangalore. I worked directly with scrum teams, including Product Owners (PO), Developers, Quality Assurance (QA) specialists, and User Assistants (UA), ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project execution.

Fiori 3.0

The SAP Central Design Team upgraded the Fiori Design Guidelines from Fiori 2.0 to Fiori 3.0, it is basically the design guidelines that every SAP products should follow. Our C4C design team subsequently aligned our product's design with these updates. I was responsible for the upgrades of several modules including Home page.

Responsiveness

The C4C product is implemented with responsive design, allowing our customers to seamlessly utilize it across desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

Dark Mode

Dark mode began gaining popularity in software design around 2016-2017, as it enhances user focus. In response to this trend, we C4C team designed and developed a dark mode for our product. As the responsible development team is entirely based in our Chengdu office, I take on a greater responsibility for checking the effects before launch.
